Client Demands a Simple Yet Inventive, Intuitive and Functional UI.
Affordance: A situation where an object’s sensory characteristics intuitively imply its functionality and use. — Crowdcube
User validated research revealed an organic user curiosity and heightened engagement with a particular design element - an animated Crystal Ball - to which we afforded an organic virtual "squishiness" and 3D Multi-state action.
Conversations yielded the sketch below.
Note the suggested Crystal Ball – which we had identified in preliminary research
as being an item of Heightened Engagement and curiosity. The Crystal Ball is the sole control
element in the app. This dovetailed
nicely with the client’s desire for non-traditional UI.
